I got my Target beauty box in the mail last week, and now that I’ve had a chance to test out some of the great products inside, I wanted to give a few mini-reviews of all these goodies.
Target offers multiple different boxes each with its own theme, and the fact that you can see what’s inside each box before buying is so nice – it’s almost like you’re getting to personalize your box ahead of time.
Here’s what was inside the “natural” box:
Schmidt’s Rose + Vanilla Natural Deodorant: From what I have heard, Schmidt’s is one of the most popular all-natural deodorant brands out there. As far as doing the job (preventing smell/wetness) it was pretty effective. The only thing that I didn’t care for was the scent itself. Rose and vanilla sounds like a delicious candle that I would definitely buy; but when it comes to deodorant, I prefer no smell at all and this one in particular irked me quite a bit.
Method Nourishing Body Wash: This body wash smells yummy and was very luxuriating. I would definitely buy it in a fully size after testing out this sample.
African Black Soap Mud Mask: Because I only do face masks once a week, I haven’t had the chance to try this yet. I have, of course, heard amazing things about this brand so I’m expecting it to be good and effective. I love a good mud mask, but I use them sparingly. If anyone is interested, I’m happy to post a separate review of this mask later on once I’ve had a chance to test it out.
Beauty & Planet Shampoo and Conditioner: Smells soooo good, like really good. I almost didn’t want to use it because it was so nice! I didn’t notice any sort of difference in my hair after using, which is neither good or bad. However, since I know what works best for my hair and am unlikely to deviate from the shampoo and conditioner I use on the regular, I don’t think I would buy this in full sizes.
Nourish Organic Face Lotion: This is my new favorite face lotion. It goes on really smooth and it smells so nice and light. I had never heard of this brand before, but I’m definitely considering buying a full tube once this one is empty.
So far my favorite product has to be the Nourish face lotion. Skincare products are just my favorite, and since they tend to be a hit or a miss in these beauty boxes, when I find a good one I get super excited. I would give this box 4/5 overall.
Now, online it says that these boxes are not available in stores but GUESS WHAT they are now selling them in-store in the beauty department! I’m not sure if this has been implemented in every Target, or just in a few pilot stores.
Either way, I hope they continue to do this because it’s nice to be able to buy it and bring it right home. Confession: while waiting for this one to come in the mail, I bought two in store because I just couldn’t help myself..!
What About You?
Did you get any good beauty boxes this month? What other box subscriptions do you have? I kind of love that Target doesn’t make you subscribe, that way it’s easier to skip a month if you want to.
