Planning 2018

Over the past few weeks, I have been looking online for 2018 calendars and planners, wondering which styles I should go with for the new year. Do I want it notebook style, bullet journal style, structured with lines or not structured so I can free write? So much to consider! I love looking at other people’s bullet journals and seeing how they’ve organized their daily/monthly activities, but realistically bullet journals are just not for me. I tried making one last year and it was more of a nuisance than anything else. Ugh. But I’m happy to report I have some really cute planners, notebooks and calendars all ready to go for January 1st.

Standard Calendar

Blue Sky is definitely my favorite brand of accessories at Target. Each year I pick up one of these standard wall calendars (and each year their designs get better and better) to hang on the fridge or the wall next to my desk. These are ideal for keeping track of bills and travel dates. I tend to write (in pen) whatever bill is due and once it is paid just highlight it and cross the day off. It’s easy, simple and the calendar itself is so clean that I don’t mind keeping it out around the house.

I would be lost without a daily/weekly agenda. This one from Blue Sky at Target stood out to me right away. I love the color scheme of the navy blue and salmon and the abstract design on the front. I saw a different planner that was mostly white, and although I really loved it, I knew it would be dirty by mid-year. This planner (with a safer color scheme) also came with fun stuff inside like gold stickers and a plastic detachable ruler. BONUS is that the first few pages offered tips for planning out your goals for the year:

How cool is that? I’m definitely going to use these for my planning!

Notebooks

I also have two brand-new notebooks I will be using for general miscellaneous notes, blog post planning, etc. Some of the most important factors for me are layout and ease of use; I don’t like blank pages on my notebooks/planners, I need lines and only spiral bound. These make me crazy! I tend to take my planners and notebooks with me when I go to work or to the library, and I need products that can withstand being in the car, in bags, planes, etc.

What About You?

Do you have your new office supplies for 2018 yet? I contemplated waiting until January to buy them in case there were some major sales, but I didn’t want to risk not getting something I wanted. Overall, I’m really pleased with my choices and I can’t wait to start using them in just a couple days!
