September Favorites

Hello, and welcome to my September Favorites post!

I have to say, the month of September has passed the quickest so far this year. How did that happen? For new readers, welcome and thank you for joining in! Each month I post a list of my favorite things; books, movies, articles, clothes, things that I’m loving (or not) and snapshots from the month. Enjoy!

I got my first Fab Fit Fun box last week and it did not disappoint! Here’s a recap of what came in the fall box:

How cute is all this fun stuff? The total value of the box ranged from $377 – $397, and I was able to get it for $39.99 with a promo code. There are tons of promo codes out there so if you want to register for the next box, I’d get on it ASAP. They’re quarterly, so there’s one more this year coming in the winter.

Books

How to Get Dressed by Alison Freer, a costume designer, has been such a fun book to look through. It reminded me of the Lucky Guide to Mastering Any Style, anyone remember that one? I highly recommend How to Get Dressed, even if you already know how to get dressed. I posted my review last week.

Documentaries

I’m excited to watch Lady Gaga’s new Netflix documentary, Gaga: Five Foot Two. You can watch the trailer (and read a little review), here.

Articles

  • Two amazing women, one eye-opening interview.
  • Ursula K. LeGuin on staying awake while reading: “To read a story well is to follow it, to act it, to feel it, to become it—everything short of writing it, in fact. Reading is not “interactive” with a set of rules or options, as games are; reading is actual collaboration with the writer’s mind. No wonder not everybody is up to it.”
  • 100 Years of Raisins (!)

In other non-news, haircuts! And, java chip frappuccinos are still my favorite!

I hope your September was great, and here’s to a lovely fall season!

And don’t forget to check out past favorites: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, and August 🙂

Instead of wondering how Sept went so fast, there is a more pressing concern: why don’t any of th Starbucks branches near me offer th java chip frappuccinos?! Anyway, next month they start their festive range – will b able to enjoy toffee nut latte or gingerbread latte again – yay! 🙂
