Health & Beauty: 5 Daytime Moisturizers

We’ve talked about cleansing toners and face masks, and now let’s talk about moisturizers. Moisturizers are so important whether they are the base for your makeup routine or you are just keeping clean and hydrated, they are key to keeping your skin healthy. Here are my picks for favorite moisturizers:

Garnier Clearly Brighter: I was so surprised at how well this Garnier daytime moisturizer works. It’s a “brightening and smoothing” day cream. It goes on lightly, smells so good and it really does have a brightening effect. Fun fact, I used this one last year on a trip to Disneyland and California Adventures (it also has SPF 15) and it didn’t make me oily or cake up my makeup all day; definitely a great travel essential.

Korres Balancing Cream-gel: purchased at Sephora and the first Korres product I’ve ever used, this pomegranate moisturizer smells delicious. It doesn’t go on too thick, and it isn’t super hydrating, but I have used it on a daily basis multiple days in a row and it has worked well so far.

Aveeno Absolutely Ageless: Aveeno one of the brands you can’t go wrong with since so many of their products are hypoallergenic and work well for so many skin types. This absolutely ageless daytime moisturizer smells really good, provides the perfect amount of hydration and has SPF 30.

Acure Day Cream: a while back I got an Acure face wash from a Target beauty box, and a couple months later they followed up with the face cream. It has a really fresh, citrusy scent and similar to the Garnier moisturizer it kinds of just glides on very easily and holds up well throughout the day. (Not yet tested at Disneyland though!)

Burt’s Bees Day Lotion: I have mixed feelings about this one. It is so thick and takes forever to dry. I like to apply my moisturizer and let it soak in for ten minutes or so before starting my makeup routine, but it can talk almost a half hour for this moisturizer to really soak in before I can start applying foundation, etc. Normally I like a very hydrating lotion but this one is just a bit much for use on a daily basis. Still, it’s Burt’s Bees which is a brand I love so I would still recommend it for anyone looking for a super hydrating moisturizer.

What moisturizers do you use? As with every other beauty product I use, I like to rotate between different brands since I don’t like using the same stuff day after day 🙂
